Our local Vision:
Every older person in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames will feel valued by and connected with their community, and able to face the future with hope.
Our National Vision:
There are about 17,500 care homes in the UK and over 50,000 churches. We want to see every care home adopted by a local church, with trained volunteers spending time and building friendship with care home residents.
To embrace frail, vulnerable older people living in care homes with Christian love, through friendship and practical support.
To help churches reach out to lonely older people in the local community.
To present a view of old age that is hope filled and enables fruitful living, drawing on the long Christian traditions of honour and respect for the elderly.
Christian values underpin the work of Embracing Age and we welcome older people of all faiths and none. We believe older people should be treated with dignity and deserve our honour and respect.
We subscribe to the Faithworks Charter.
