Over the last year, our incredible volunteers have brought joy to 1,845 older care home residents through visiting, cards, gifts and more!

We're thrilled to share our latest annual update, which gives a snapshot of our impact over the last year and our aims for the next three years. This year marks 10 years since Embracing Age began and we couldn't be prouder of where we have grown to - from an embryonic idea of befriending isolated care home residents, to an award-winning charity with over 150 volunteers making a difference in the lives of care home residents and informal carers, and equipping churches in their work amongst older generations and those living with dementia.

We are enormously grateful to everyone who has enabled these stories and projects to take shape, especially our incredible volunteers, our generous supporters and our staff team.

Lynette, Sylvia's daughter, said "We were all thrilled to hear that we had won the quiz bought at the Care Homes Christmas Fayre. Three generations sat pondering over it that day, followed by a further session with four generations in total at a pre-Christmas lunch. I think the age spread was very helpful with a lot of the questions on decades gone by. As a family of pub quizzers it was enjoyed by all with the bonus of monies going to a great cause."

We loved picturing Sylvia's family all sitting round together working through the questions; one of Sylvia's grandchildren said "Grandma has always enjoyed doing crosswords and quizzes, especially at Christmas, which is a way of getting all the family to join in. Christmas day wouldn't be the same without a quiz!"
