Location: Home-based with some community work on the Isle of Wight
Salary: £14 per hour
Contract: One-year fixed term (6-month probation), extension subject to funding
Hours: 15 hours per week

Embracing Age is a Christian charity working towards a world where older people are valued, connected, and full of hope. We equip volunteers, churches, and communities to combat loneliness and bring meaningful connection to older people, particularly those living in care homes.
Our work on the Isle of Wight is growing, and we are seeking a committed Christian to help deepen our impact across care homes and local communities.
About the role
The Isle of Wight Coordinator leads Embracing Age’s work across the Island. You will recruit, support, and inspire volunteers, build strong relationships with care homes and churches, and champion projects that help residents feel seen, valued, and connected.
This is a hands-on, relational role requiring initiative, warmth, and confidence in building local partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with care homes, churches, and community partners
- Recruit, train, support, and supervise volunteers
- Coordinate befriending relationships between volunteers and care home residents
- Maintain accurate records, monitoring, and reporting using our CRM system
- Promote Embracing Age locally through networking, talks, and presentations
- Support local fundraising and small grant opportunities
- Work in line with Embracing Age’s Christian ethos, including prayer for the work
About you
You will be:
- A practising Christian with a heart for older people
- Confident working independently and as part of a remote team
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable using IT systems (training provided where needed)
Faith requirement: There is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Safeguarding.: An enhanced DBS check will be required.
