BOOK REVIEW
Living with Alzheimer's: A Love Story by Robin Thomson Robin skilfully interweaves the journey of looking after his wife Shoko, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, with helpful lessons learned along the way, as he read books and talked to experts. He is honest about the challenges and his own failings, as well as sharing tips on what worked, and how he grew in the process. It is a captivating, informative story, which I read in one sitting, and promptly posted to a carer who I thought would find it helpful. He started reading it immediately and said it resonated so much, and he has begun to move forward with some of Robin's suggestions. |
