Evangelical Alliance features call on churches to adopt a care home

We were thrilled when Evangelical Alliance recently featured an article by Tina sharing our vision to see every care home in the UK adopted by a local church. 

The article, "Could Your Church Adopt a Care Home?", reminds us of The Message: “Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.” Research shows older people in care homes are twice as likely to feel severely lonely as older people living in the community. A shocking statistic showing how these individuals are often overlooked and forgotten by their local community.  

But there is hope - the article shares the huge impact and joyful stories of churches that have adopted their local care home and the ways that Embracing Age can support churches in that ministry, whatever their scale of time and resources.
